Sra. Giovanna Schillaci
1st-8th Grade Spanish TeacherSra. Giovanna Schillaci has been teaching Spanish in SFDS since 2001.
She looks forward to assist her students in learning a language that has become so important in today’s world.
In First through Fourth Grade the learning experience will be reinforced with songs, basic vocabulary, and basic conversational skills.
The fifth grade and middle school program is designed to provide students with basic language skills and practical vocabulary. These grade levels include reading, writing, conversation and highlighting interesting aspects and traditions of the hispanic culture.
Sra. Schillaci encourages the students to practice Spanish at every opportunity, both in the classroom and at home.
About Sra. Schillaci
She was born and raised in Mexico City. She started learning English when she was in first grade and enjoyed a great deal learning foreign languages. When it was time to choose a university she jumped at the opportunity to attend an American University. She graduated from the University of Houston and has been teaching Spanish for the past twenty years.
She met her husband at the university and have been married since 1980. She has three wonderful kids and three beautiful grandchildren. At home she always encouraged her kids to learn foreign languages, they all are fluent in Spanish and French.
