Other Credentials
Mr. Fernandez currently serves as the 4th-8th Grade Department Head, the Campus Minister, and 6th-8th Grade Religion Teacher for St. Francis de Sales School. Previously, he was a middle school English teacher and a music and religion teacher at two other Catholic schools in our Archdiocese.
His mission as a Catholic school educator is to help bring the school community to Heaven by creating opportunities for them to experience God’s love, live an authentic Christian lifestyle, and grow into the best versions of themselves.
After graduating from Alief Hastings High School here in Houston, Mr. Fernandez finished his Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communications from The University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘Em Horns!) with concentrations in Advertising and Business Foundations.
Additionally, Mr. Fernandez has a Master’s Degree in Catholic Education from the University of St. Thomas and had the privilege of being a part of the GRACE (Gulf Region Academy for Catholic Educators) Program.
In his free time, he loves to workout at Zenpan Dojo, jog (He's ran 7 Chevron Marathons so far!), try new restaurants, play board games, spend time with friends and family and travel around the world (He's been to 6 of the 7 continents). Who knows, maybe he'll go to Antarctica one of these days!
Mr. Fernandez enjoys actively serving God as either a vocalist, pianist or clarinetist for Masses and serves for various Catholic events and retreats around the Archdiocese. You can find him singing at St. Laurence's Life Teen Choir in Sugar Land every Sunday at 5 P.M. In the past, he has also been heavily involved in evangelizing others through music ministry, Life Teen, Bayou Awakening, and Missionary Families of Christ - Singles.
Lastly, Mr. Fernandez's favorite Bible verse comes from Jeremiah 29:11, "For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope."
